Terms of Service

Version 2026-08-30 · Effective August 30, 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and pre when you use our app and presocial.app. We’ve kept them as short and readable as we can. If anything is unclear, email support@presocial.app.

1. The agreement

pre is a social app for planning what’s next and staying close to your people, operated by pre and available at presocial.app and through our mobile apps. By creating an account or using pre, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your information. If you don’t agree, please don’t use pre.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use pre. Where local law sets a higher minimum age for using a service like pre without a parent’s or guardian’s consent (for example 14 in Quebec), that higher age applies. By using pre, you confirm that you meet the age requirement, that you can lawfully enter into this agreement, and that you haven’t previously been banned from pre.

3. Your account

  • Give us accurate information when you sign up, and keep it up to date.
  • Keep your login credentials secure and don’t share your account. You are responsible for activity that happens on your account.
  • Tell us right away at support@presocial.app if you think your account has been compromised.
  • Don’t impersonate other people, and don’t register usernames to squat, mislead, or harass.

4. Your content

You own what you create. pre doesn’t claim ownership of your posts, moments, messages, events, or media.

You give us a license to run pre. So that we can host, display, and distribute your content to the people you share it with, you grant pre a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, host, store, reproduce, adapt (for example, to resize or transcode media), publish, and display your content for the purposes of operating, developing, and promoting the service. This license ends when you delete your content or your account, except where your content has been shared with others who have not deleted it, where it appears in content other people created (such as replies), or where limited copies persist in backups for the retention periods described in our Privacy Policy.

Only share what you have the right to share. You are responsible for your content, including making sure it doesn’t infringe anyone else’s rights. If you believe content on pre infringes your copyright or other rights, report it in the app or email support@presocial.app with enough detail for us to find and assess it.

5. Acceptable use

These are our community rules. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. On pre, you may not:

  • Post or send hate speech, or attack people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, or serious disease.
  • Harass, threaten, bully, or intimidate anyone, or share private information about someone without their consent.
  • Post or send content that is illegal, that sexualizes or endangers minors, or that promotes violence or self-harm.
  • Impersonate people or organizations, or spread scams and deliberate deception.
  • Spam, manipulate engagement, or use bots or automation to access pre without our permission, including scraping.
  • Interfere with the service, probe or bypass our security or moderation systems, or access other people’s accounts or data without authorization.

We enforce these rules. We use a mix of automated systems and human review, and we act on reports promptly. We may remove or restrict content, limit features, or suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Where we take action against your account, we will tell you unless we are legally prevented from doing so or doing so would put someone at risk.

6. Safety features

pre includes safety tools such as check-ins, night sharing, and event safety features. These tools are aids, not emergency services. They depend on your device, your battery, your network connection, your settings, and the actions of the people you share with, and they can fail or be delayed.

If you are in danger or facing an emergency, call your local emergency number immediately. Do not rely on pre to summon help.

7. Payments and tickets

  • Prices and fees. Ticket prices are set by event organizers. Before you pay, we show you the total, including any service fees. Ticket payments and organizer payouts are processed by Stripe; Host Pass subscriptions are billed by Apple through your App Store account. We don’t store your full card details.
  • Refunds. If an event is canceled and not rescheduled, you are entitled to a refund of the ticket price. Otherwise, ticket sales are final unless the organizer offers a refund or applicable law requires one — organizers may describe additional refund terms in their event listing, and where they do, those terms apply. Unless required by law, service fees are non-refundable. Where the law of your country grants additional remedies for canceled or materially changed events (for example, under Mexico’s Federal Consumer Protection Law), nothing in these terms limits them. To request a refund, contact the organizer or support@presocial.app.
  • Organizers. Events are created and run by their organizers, who are responsible for their events, including accuracy of listings, admission, and delivering the event as described. pre is not the organizer of events unless we expressly say so.
  • Organizer obligations. If you sell tickets or accept payments through pre, you must describe your event accurately, honor your stated refund policy, and comply with applicable law, including tax obligations on your sales.

8. Termination

You can stop using pre at any time and delete your account in the app under Settings, then Account, then Delete Account (or by emailing support@presocial.app from your account email). We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, if we are required to by law, or if providing the service to you creates risk for pre or other people. Where reasonable, we will give you notice and a chance to export or address the issue first.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination do survive, including Your content (for the license wind-down), Disclaimers, Limitation of liability, and Governing law.

9. Disclaimers

pre is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don’t promise that pre will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that content on pre, including event listings, is accurate or reliable. Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain disclaimers, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, pre will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to these terms or your use of pre. To the same extent, our total liability for all claims relating to the service is limited to the greater of one hundred US dollars ($100) or the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for our own fraud, gross negligence, or willful misconduct, and nothing in these terms affects statutory consumer rights you hold in your country of residence.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws rules, and any dispute that can’t be resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in California. If you live somewhere that gives you the right to sue in your local courts or under your local law as a consumer, that right is unaffected. Before filing any claim, contact us at support@presocial.app; most concerns can be resolved quickly and informally.

12. Changes to these terms

When we change these terms, we will post the new version here and update the version and effective date at the top. If a change is material, we will notify you in the app or by email before it takes effect, and where required, we will ask you to accept the updated terms before you continue using pre. If you keep using pre after a change takes effect, the updated terms apply to you.
